Eddie
I think that 170-180hp wouln't be a problem for 4x4 system in P4, providing that all rubbers mounts are in top condition.

Thanks guys for the sympathy and info.
I've long wanted to supercharge one of my 33s and I thought that the p4 would be able to apply the power better{ ie no torque steer} and the charger would up the torque significantly on the 16V. Also easier to blow through and intercool with the injection. Tha aim would be an easy 170-180hp. I think the P4 will become a collectors item in time.
For items like the rubber mounts, perhaps moulds could be made and done in urethane.
My S2 is already on 195/50/15s, has the front chassis braces (reto fitted}K&N and soon to have the Zender bodykit fitted { finally} and a refettle with solid lifter cams etc. Oh, and lowered about 30mm and a crossover manifold.
SCOTT, I changed my email some time ago from hotmail to ihug and I'm sure I updated my details at the time but the site doesn't seem to recognise my current email as valid for my username and consequently won't allow me to change my password. It also won't allow my current password which I have written down. Frustrating. Thats why I thoght that with Admin rights you or Keith might be able to verify and sort.

Hi Eddie W
sorry to hear of your loss.

if you want a great 33,put a 16v in your series 2.you then get the best of both worlds.series 2's are liter and the 16v is tops. thats the way i would go.

regards john p.s glad your back Wink

Imagine normal series 3 16v, and now put 4x4 on top of that.
They really do feel a bit sluggish after fwd, there realy are more things that can go wrong, and that you just cant buy anwhere these days. (ie 2 rubber mounts that hold prop shaft/visco to chasis)
Everthing Paul mentioned is true.

P4 is better in the wet and on poor surfaces. 0-60 time (if everything is in good working order with a good clutch is 8.1 seconds), but only because of quick initial pull away. P4s are definitely more trouble than series 2 and eat clutches. Put on 195s and they really do start to handle well as they can make use of drive on all four corners. The back end is heavier than on a normal series 3 and the whole car is I think about 100kg heavier (than a series 3) to throw round corners, though the drive out is better. I would imagine their 50-70 times etc are a little slower than the normal series 3. Some parts are also becoming rather hard if not impossible to find now. It is also harder to get the power out of the 16v engine as you really need to keep the revs up. So personally I can't choose between the 8v carbed 1.7 or the P4, so I have both and they both make me grin for different reasons. Twisted Evil

Thank you Tino. Eight months of sheer hell. Just starting to get my life back together.
I can't change my password because it won't accept my email for some reason. It's driving me nuts because I want to ask opinions onP4 versus S2. There's a P4 for sale here and they're quite rare in NZ. It's cheap enough but I don't know how good they are. How reliable and how much power boost the transmission will stand. Drove it briefly the other day and wasn't too impressed with the performance compared to my S2 inspite of the 16V. Maybe all that extra weight. Is it worth it ?

Cheers for that. However at the moment I have more pressing matters such as the fact that yesterday, at last, I took off the whole rear axle and have put the replacement axle underneath ready to put in place this week. So far quite easy.

Hi,

I bought in a shop of autostyle.nl in NL, but may be better to look at the next link
http://shop.alfisti.net/Tuning-Styling/Alfa-33/Suspensions:::1_5_56.html
if it will be not opened then go to

Hi,

I used 15mm spacers for rear wheels of my AR33. There are two type of spacers, ones are ready to use and are made for the type of car, other ones are universal and fit any car but to locate wheel properly on them you need to buy additional cups which are made for the type of car and have the same diameter as the hubs.

If can't locate center, I gather the thickness is around 10mm? or more? I had built in bolt spacers at 15mm. You can customise the centre bore, and even the pcd. Good luck.

PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 9:22 am    Post subject: Wheel Spacers

When you put a wheel on your car, the wheel locates around the centre of the hub where the wheel nut is located, but if you use a wheel spacer you can no longer locate around the hub centre. Is there any way to solve this? Can you buy spacers which have there own locating lip for the wheel? Anyone had any experience of this?
