well i got the new parts and fitted them today (tricky job), however the knocking noise it still there. Upon further investigation (rocking the car whilst under it) I noticed that the offside nut that holds the u bracket that holds the shock had come loose.

Word of warking to you all, this happend to me before and i didnt know what it was until after it broke whlist going round a fast corner. I ended up going up a grass embankment whilst doing a 360 and parked my car inbetween 2 trees, with 5" to spare each side

My car passed its MOT on friday, Yeah!!!!
only needed front wiper blades and adjustment of nearside front light, as it was pointing to much to the right.
Although not there is a knocking comming from the rear, which is the fuel pump.
I think the mot tester broke 1 testing to see if it is secure. What a pig of a job, ive taken off the bracket for the fuel pump and the metal protector plate, to try and get out the rubber mounts, both of which the rubber has come away and left the bolts rusted solid, left to soak over night in WD40 and will try again. Guess how much each? £4.00
