| A bloke showed me once and for all (after worrying him to death repeatedly) how to time an engine roughly. What you do if you can is have number one on t.d.c. on the compression stroke, if you can't see what is happening have a look at number four which should have both cams rocking. Try to have the cams equally open/closed on four and both valves closed on one which corresponds to t.d.c. on number one. Works on all engines that I've come across and is easy if you can't work out the timing marks on the cams/ distributor etc.
See how you go with that, sounds strange but is easy if you're actually doing it hands on. Cheers,... Col. |

| No sorry I didn't mean the cam timing but the distributor timing. I've dropped a 16v lump in my Sud and am running it on carbs, so when I get it finished and fire it up, and so would just like to know the 33 16v dizzy timing so I can get a base to start from.
