Maybe should just leave my standard 14's on then......unless I can find a nice set of 155 15" in the split rim style!
I've found plenty of the large side stickers on ebay, but abarth-badges have small proper metal ones for £21 each!.......think i'll just get the big stickers for £3. Smile

Thats very nice mate!
Not alot of difference externally to my Cloverleaf, headlight washers and the different alloys, are they 15's?
....... I want to get badges on the side of mine now after seeing yours! Smile

What wiring did he change???
The wiring for the ECU, or the "normal" wiring???
Or did he changed EVERYTHING????

Yes this is true... But if your car has some vacuum pipe disconnected (like mine had) it simply doesnt start at all, if you dont give it a kick in the pedal...(this problem is already solved in mine)

Oh Good - I bought NGK's so hopefully it'll at least go in the morning!

FYI: I asked the specialist if there was anything I can do to prevent the flooding on startup - he said never touch the accelerator on startup helps - don't know if it's true though.

Camilo,
friend of mine owned FWD noncat 16v with similar but worse problems, he would start engine on two cyls, fuel consumption was from 15-30% more....
He replaced fair bit of things he could replace/plugs,sensors... and check out... after he sold it new owner changed wiring and voila new car.

Mine does this IF i use the Golden Lodge plugs. It looks like yours, but is the front wheel drive version.

If i use the Golden lodge plugs, especially in damp weather, the car as a tendancy to flood, and the only way to start the car again, is to remove the plugs and clean them....
I switched to NGK plugs, because eventualy they also flood, but the car starts on 3 cylinders, and after warming up, it "switches" the "dead cylinder into life...
I`ve tried everything, to prevent this from hapening (from new injectors, new fuel damper, new plug leads, new plugs, new distributor...The list is long) but sometimes (in damp weather) he fires on 3 cylinders..

When someone gets the cure for this i will be happy to know...

Hi,

Never known my 64,000miler 16v (with cat) to flood in the 6 years i've had it.

Mine has the platinum plugs, which i've had out a couple of times. I've actually got a brand new set of platinums i got cheap on ebay, which i may whack in when i next service the car if i'm feeling very keen.

Have resprayed nsf door and spoiler in the last 10 days, waiting on brand new marrelli new nsf electric window reg assy (ebay!), then hoping for some time to put in new headlights, new front shocks and strut bearings.

Spent all free time last weekend servicing and tidying the wifes 'new' 145.

Trying to get to Spring Alfa Day for the morning, hope to see you and the p4 there!

Thanks John; yes had a 16v before, but it was cat so the plugs were platinum so I never had to change them.
Got the tools in the kit fortunately, but yes it looks like a PITA!

My specialist advised against the cost of platinum plugs saying that the 16v's always flood and then won't start and the only way to get them going again is to change the plugs. Ever heard of this? My old car was always fine Question

Hi,

I'm assuming you've had a 33 before?

If not, the plugs are a right old fiddle the first time, mostly working by feel with the plug spanner from toolkit. It looks like your p4 has been cherished, so hopefully the plugs will have been previously 'coppaslipped' which helps alot. Take out the airbox, and place a good book or magazine on the intake manifold!

This is what I spend yesterday doing: Service items

Only had 5 hours, but managed to:
- Replace the cracked coolant hose from the T’stat to the left side intake.
- Replaced all the other hoses to the t’stat as a precaution and the T’stat itself.
- PAS and Alternator Belts
- Flush and change the coolant
- Change the Engine Oil and filter
- Change the Diff Oil
- Change the Air Filter
- Change the dissy cap and rotor arm

Still need to:
- Change the gearbox oil (The oil from the diff was as new, so I’ve got high hopes that the gearbox oil will be the same).
- Change the fuel filter
- Change the PAS fluid
- Change the plugs
- Take some photos of the goodridge hoses for Tino(!)
- Do the brakes: New lines, discs, fluid and pads – still waiting for the front discs!
