I have standard size tyres on my s2 33.
I just deflated them to 28psi front and 26 psi rear in order to pass the suspension component of my WOF (MOT) inspection. It made the steering heavier and better at self-centering, and the car rode more smoothly.
Normally I run over 30psi on the road and 40psi on the track. Yet still the track days wear the outer shoulders right off my tyres!

Paul,
The lower the profile the higher the psi........I think....
Like John I run mine at 30 lbf/in and I don't get any probs with bad tyre wear

2.2 = 32 lbf/in
1.8 = 26 lbf/in

Cheers

Hi,

185/60 HR 14 std on s3 8v and 16v models.

manual says for 16v (2wd) front 2.2 kg/cm*cm , rear 1.8

Don't know what that is in psi or lbs/ft- usually just whack mine upto about 30, which is probably wrong??!!

My bro recently did a race driving skills day kinda thing in his mini cooper s. The instructor put his tyres upto something mad like about 60. Just failed its mot on wheel bearing and track rod end- whoops.

Okay series 2 standard tyre pressures are 26 lb/ci front and 23 rear.
What should they be if you're running 195/50s instead?
Then what about P4 on standard 185/60s and 195/50s?
Anyone know.
