paul has the details
i think whether it was a p4 or ser 2 1.7 cl or a ser 3 16v or sportwagon ive had them all
it was a classic car ins limited to 5000 miles i think they do agreed value
and i paid £149.10 EACH TIME easy to change from 33 to 33

might be the area i once moved 10 miles and my quote for insurance was 40 pound cheaper
mind you if you had bobbers old 33 and said the colour Embarassed and your from brighton who knows

Is this your only car? many classic policies require the car to be a second car.

Have you tried confused.com - they tend to come up with some good quotes online

try Footman James, they seem to be able to knock a third off of other quotes! the only thing they don't offer is third party only on other peoples cars... They were recommended to me by some chaps who live in a bus in a field, if they insured that then...

What is wrong with my details to cause such a high quote? Im 35, single, 6 years procted no claims bonus, I.T contractor / trampoline coach, 1 non fault claim 3 years ago. I am getting quotes like; Admiral £353, Esure £360, Lancaster £380, MMA £546. If i went on classic car insurance my no claims discount isnt used and after 2 years i would loose it. I need a normal policy that will take my no claims and add on agreed value. I have valued the car at £2k is that ok?
Car is solid underneath, will be getting undersealed and waxoiled soon and has done under 60k.

Thanks, any more?
I just got a call back from my insurance broker, my current insurer wont do agreed value and for my broker to do so, it has to be the second vehicle, do under 15k miles a year and has to be over 15 years old, this will be on classic car insurance policy with another insurer.

I use a broker called Performance Direct and got my SW on 1500 miles a year for £130. I've got my other 33 on agreed value of £4000 (!!!) and 3000 miles a year for about £300. Both are fully comp with breakdown cover and legal cover included

Hope that helps

Hi,

I went with ClassicLine Insurance a few years back when i had a garage to put the 33 in. It had to be garaged and had limited miles of 3k i think.
For the agreed value i paid an additional premium, and could say what i thought it was worth. I think they just had a sliding scale so if you said your car was worth a grand, you would pay say £20 extra, 2 grand £30 extra and so on.

Without a usable garage i found elephant were cheapest for a few years, and then last year went with Esure. Cost me about £225 i think, fully comp, but with NO agreed value.

Cheers,

john

Hi,
Insurance is up for renewal but I want to change to a company that does agreed value, as mine doesn’t. I am fully comp but if I was to be in an accident I’m sure they would only pay the book value, of which I think is very low and therefore write it off. Considering there are very few of our beloved beasts on the road, I would hate for this to happen.
I do very low mileage so limited mileage is no problem.
I'm waiting for a call back from my broker, will go on classic car insurance, what price should I say its worth?
Who can you recommend? What prices are we looking at?
