That's a "LESTER"frontbumper

s2 and s3 wings are interchangeable, only difference is the sidelightposition, i solved that problem with s3 sidetrim front to end( i don't know the english word for it Embarassed )
take a look at my green s2, that has s3 wings on it
on my purple s2 i welded the opening for the sidelight, and cut another one to be able to fit the s3 sidetrim (still don't know the english word Wink )

bumperbracket is not attached to the wing, so no problems here also

I just have an urge for a 33 again, plus it will stop me putting so manny miles on the 156 Cool

I bought my 33 for the same reason to stop putting so many miles on my 155, especially now i have to drive to work instead of cycle.

The series 3 with the big veloce bumper is off a 75 which has been shortened
That seems like more work than necessary, why not use a 33 veloce bumper and take off the bumper iron, cut it to either make it shorter or longer so that the bumper fixings fit in the engine bay, if using ser2 wings side mountings should fit no problem

Well I just worked out what the highest post count reward is.

It's not a 16 Valve..

It's not a P4...

Its a S3 cabriolet with a S2 front clip, powered by a V6 with twin turbo's with 18inch Bling wheels and painted in colour change orange metallic paint.

And Bobbber's gonna get there first. Razz

I think it would look better with the ser 2 side skirts. The ser 3 bumper stops a lot higher and the line flows with the ser 3 side skirt. The ser 2 veloce bumpers sit much lower but married with the ser 2 side skirts they may compliment each other.

I have always toyed with the idea of veloce bumpers on a series 3, but after seeing a pic of a series 3 with large bumpers, where the splitter almost touched the floor, it kind of stuck out. I too prefer the ser 2 look, but good ones are hard to come buy and lack a little power to the 16v, so yes a hybrid would be good. Here’s a couple of pics but it still has the ser 3 lights ect, not found any pics of a front end conversion.

I have seen a sud with veloce bumpers, that looked mean.

Hi,

i didn't believe it until i tested it...wings from series 2 and 3 can be exchanged, the main difference is the front bumper attachment...but this part is hidden behind the front bumper so it's easy to build a bracket of your own.

Isn't the series 3 radiator mounted further forward to make room for the power steering? This would probably give you some trouble trying to fit a series 2 front over it.

I really want a series 2, but they seem a bit rarer than the series 3 which seem a bit more available, so I was thinkin of merging the two to get the best of both worlds (i.e. 16v engine, stiffer front rails and better rear wheel control..with the older classic look) Very Happy

Guess its a bigger job than I thought... Smile

Thanks for the info Very Happy

Hi

I have a feeling that the wings are very similar (possible the cutout for the side repeaters is different). Main difference is the lights, bonnet, bumper and grill.

All the best

Hi Funkin

They're different. The indicators on the side are on a different place (that's not too bad as you could fill and drill) - but the major problem is the very front where the light configuration is different. You'd have to shear some metal off and weld some new in. I don't think it's worth it.

Assuming the parts are availabe is it just a bolt on job or are there differences in front subframe mountings etc?

BLIMEY... Just buy the Series you prefer in the first place! Laughing

Are the wings on the series 2 and 3 the same?

How easy is it to put a series 2 front end on a series 3?

Assuming the parts are availabe is it just a bolt on job or are there differences in front subframe mountings etc?

Sorry if its been asked before... Very Happy
