Just saw this string.

Beware of resting anything on the dash as in the first pic.

I carried a lightweight alloy ladder home like that, resting on the passenger seat and dash, just clear of the windscreen, well padded at the front.

I braked slightly as I went over a bump (French roads), the ladder end slid forward ever so slightly, wedged itself into the lower angle of the windscreen, and cracked the screen halfway to the top.

Expensive ladder!

Tell me about it. I once trasported a queen size (dismantled) bed frame in my 33 with all doors fully closed. I can name no toher hatch that can do that.

They're the best at hauling shite John!

I regularly have mine filled up with building materials for the ongoing house renovations. Once I had over 100 bricks and about 4 bags of sand/cement in mine.........was a quick way to lower the car but had a little performance problem Rolling Eyes

Ha, nice one John. I see you were very careful to protect all the trims from being scratched too.

Too true - I even took out the front seat once (as it's so easy) to carry a P4 rear axle home once. Very Happy
