the output flanges on a sud box are different and may need changing, also the sud boxs need the speedo output modified as the sud uses a cable and the 33 is electronic Smile

Must go to the TT one day!
Most gearboxes (even sud ones) will fit, but have various gearings which will change your acceleration/top speed. Roughly the earlier the box the shorter the gearing.
Gearbox ratios are shown on the Alfa 33 Info menu above here.

I have a series 3 box. It is in a low mileage car at the minute which I will be converting to a P4 at some point, so it will be coming out.

Drop me a PM if you are interested. I am not sure what they go for nowadays, but am sure we could work something out.

Gearbox should be the same as other late series 2 and series 3 boxes(with the exception of the 1.3 which has a shorter final drive).

Hi Guys,

The gearbox in my 33 is pretty knackered. She is a 88' 1.7 cloverleaf 5 speed model. Can you tell me if any other gearboxes are the same on any other 33 models?
Also what are my chances of finding one and can anyone recommend someone who would recondition the gearbox?

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers,
Al
