Finaly after a long time.. I have tested the Ferodo DS-3000 pads with my OMP discs at Zandvoort..

When everything is warm, the braking distance realy is short.
From 180km/h to 90km/h was amazingly ...

The space you need to fit the TS engine is larger as the space needed for the Boxer engine in the 33....

The TS engine's are higher than the 33 boxer engine's so they will not fit in a 33..... unl ...

The 33 16v engines have the rev limiter at 6850 rpm fitted in the ECU.

The 33 8v engine with ECU has a rev limit at around 6500 rpm..

The 33 8v engine's with carbs I don;t know the rev limiter s ...

Alfa recommended 20W/50 for the 33, this becomes more important as the car ages and the compression may not be as good as before. Also it slows oil consumpion, and you should find that oil light flick ...

The CAT engines have less power.

Indeed it has less power output... but when you put the exhaust system of the 30746 on the 30747 yopu have the same amount of power..

No... there has never been a TS version of the 33.

There has been a prototype of a hybride 33 but that also was not with a TS engine..

The only other engine type in the 33 was the 3 cylinder Tur ...

Underweight can be a disadvantage on the track, you need enough weight to have some pressure on the front and rear of the car to have some grip on the track..

What have you done already to reduce weight ?

Strip your 33 fully and than put back only parts realy needed for the use of your car..

Here an update on the use of the DS-3000 for road use..

The wear is very low, after 3000kms the thinkness is almost as when new.
The thikness of my discs is not noticable decreased so that looks g ...

When cold it brake's like you have a not so very new original brake setup Sad ... (pretty bad but not too bad).

I think that with the DS-3000 it will be worse than with the OMP's ( as the OMP's are ...

Hi,

What are your experiences with different brands and type's of brake pads/discs ??

I drive with OMP Racing discs and OMP (971) Racing pads fitted on my 33 16v...

I don't think the manaul cobers the 16v heads.

Have you checked it already than?

But, the material and sized of the bolts in the 1.7 8b and the 1.7 16v are all teh same, so the Torque Wrench set ...
