You steward Lee! Laughing

Paul... just because we like cars from the 80's and 90's shouldn't mean we have to use ALL technology from that era! It's now our aim to just post in images only and no text! Cool

I took the crank to be reground but it was way past the grinding stage Rolling Eyes so I'm waiting to see if they can find me a replacement. At least it's given me the excuse check the valves on the other head and lap if necessary. Hopefully I'll be back on a track soon Wink (as long as I don't tell the missus where I'm going!)

No, we seem to be in a bit of a blackspot here. Just going through that possibility with some info Bobbber's sent from 3G with no luck. Will try some others.

Hi chaps,
Can't believe Spa was 6 weeks ago Shocked where does the time go?
Anyhow, I now have a roadworthy 33 again Very Happy I wont go into cost (even though I did all the work myself!) as you'll all think I'm mad but the bottom end has been rebuilt with thanks to Paul for sourcing me a crank.
Not a bad job to do really. If I add up the time we were actually working on the car (did the job with the great help of my dad) it's not that long. 1 day to remove engine and strip out the crank, 1 day to clean up all the bits and remove all the old bearing shell swarf Embarassed , 1 day to rebuild the engine and 2 days to stick it back in and connect it all up! The numpty award goes to me for connecting the HT leads up the wrong way (tired!) but as soon as we realised she started up first time.......wahoo!!

Now where's the nearest track Rolling Eyes Laughing

Well I'm guessing if she reads it, either you'll be under a slab of pallets yourself or single and free to go to Spa next year!!! Shocked Laughing

Paul,

You missed out the obvious one which would still stop Lee going to SPA next year... torture for eternity!

I think next year we should "borrow" a small car transporter. Even if it only takes one car, it would be a good insurance plan?!?

I like the thinking behind that idea Bob.
Shame you didn't come up with that plan before we went this year Laughing
