1st, assess bodywork for corrosion, most important thing!
Clutch Slave Cylinder
CLutch Kit
Cambelts and Water Pump
Full and Complete Service, all fluids
Front and rear brake replacement
4x new tyres
New battery lol
Drive Belts
Full mop and polish
I have never seen a rotor arm in such a bad state!
It did come with lots of bills and was obviously cherished by its 1st owner, who traded in a 1989 33 1.5Ti for it in 1992, but has really not been maintained all too well in its later years, shame but it does look a nice base for a project, it also has some rather nice 14inch Speedlines from a Sud/Sprint I believe.
If the engine runs well after a service so be it, but I can see a rebuild coming, bearings etc as I believe in reality its done about 115k miles, speedo says 89k but it was replaced in 94 when the original burnt out.
Also why would the intake hose and throttle body be full of oil? Seems a bad sign to me! _________________ 1993 1.5 IE 63k Miles, Renovation Project

Well I got cracking on it today, half good news half bad!
Massive fuel leak from the braided hose at the fuel filter, giving up trying to mend in this weather, but after some plugs and everything it started right up after 3 years and sounds very healthy so thats all good news.
Bad, well there is a fair bit of rust in the floors so it will definately need a fair bit of welding for MOT and to be safe really!
The interior is in a disgusting state dirt wise but its all there and in good condition, so all in all im fairly positive.
However I dont think the wheels fit properly, the center bore seems too small. _________________ 1993 1.5 IE 63k Miles, Renovation Project

Are the wheels from a 155 or 145/6? Think they have the right PCD but a slightly smaller central bore.
All the best

Well ive fixed the fuel leak and cleaned up all the intake system although it still doesnt run perfectly at idle once a little warm, although thats probably to be expected. Ive also changed the ALT/water pump belt as the old one was knackered, not done too much today as I still cant get any gears to move it around or drive it onto ramps etc, in fact ive not even attempted to even clean it yet, but I did half install a CD player so ive got some tunes on while I tinker!
I have 2 questions, how do you loosen off the PAS pump to change the belt? And does anyone have a spare door handle for the drivers door, the casting on mine has failed and it doesnt work anymore!
As promised, here are some photos of the old girl:

Good luck with everything. I should have a door handle somewhere. Two 13mm and one 15mm bolt beneath front face of PAS pump need loosening to adjust it. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV
