I've been offered an Alfa 33 1.4.

Seeing as Alfa did 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 engines in 33s, how big is the engine in this one? (Originally from Belgium)

But in Belgium, the 1.4's were called 1.3's. The same engine block / same size..

Weren't the 145/146 boxers 1.4 and 1.6 size?

Does anybody know how these late boxers differed? Were the gearboxes the same?

As far as I know the 145 1.4 was mechanically similar as the 1.4/1.3 33 however had a different fuel/air inlet system. The gearbox ratios on all 145 boxer models were the same as on the 33 1.3.

Boxer engines included the 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 16V.

We owned a new 145 1.4 IE for 3 years ( '95-'98 ). Very stylish, especially in dark metallic blue with alloys, but not as fast as the 33. The car's extra body weight really drained the power and fuel economy was a joke. The engine on my 33 runs smoother than the same lump in the old 145.
