We all know what a PITA the contacts are, normally I use a jewellers screwdriver and prize apart the contacts on the loom so as to make a nice tight contact.
As well as doing that today I also used my favourite copper cleaner, which is non abrasive, its called powerflow flux.

I bought a 100g pot many years ago and have hardly used any!

I just got back from a quick drive and none of that usual annoyingness of no speedo, that might also be due to me taking out every connector and bending out the contacts properly, some of them weren't even touching.
Hopefully it will do for another year or so.

I also removed the speedo needle stop, the needle now fluctuates when at rest, has anyone else done this?
