Ken
Is that based on the under bonnet sound? If so, how can you tell? |

Hi,
Patrick , on the second mp3 do you close the bonnet and then you set off? I think I hear sound from the external environment.
Cool, very good job.

Yeah, thats right. It was quite difficult to get the pure engine sound. There is always a bit of road noise. The sound was actually recorded using a basic digital camera with a video option. The sound was then extracted from the mpeg file.
The camera was located in the closed area of the bonnet, between the heater and the wall. You can hear the sound volume decrease a bit when the bonnet is closed, due to the rubber seal closing the compartment off.
The muffled sound that occurs when the car is accelerating in second gear is coming from the air filter box. We need to find a air induction pipe, as the original one had perished - with it removed, there is far more of an induction noise.
PS - about the debug problem. If you get this after posting, you should just go back to the forum as usual. The message has still been posted. |

Just my idea of a joke. Stop worrying about your engine. Great sounds.
