Hi all

I have 4x4 series 2 that has a manual engagement system and have problem with it. After its engagement which is still easy, 4wd is very difficult to disengage.
To change to either the four-wheel or two-wheel drive mode, I was doing the following:
Stop the vehicle (have not stop the engine).
Move the Switch lever to the desired drive mode (2WD or 4WD).

Sometimes (read: every secend time) when lever cannot be moved I try to move the vehicle slightly forward or backward to complete engagement/disegagement.

Does anyone know is this the right way to engange, disengage rear drive and if not what is?

The 33 manual says:

"To change from front wheel drive to 4-wheel drive (4x4) merely move lever 1.
It is not necessary to depress the clutch pedal.
This may be done while the vehicle is moving and at any speed. However avoid changing to 4-wheel drive on curves or when the wheels are steered to full lock."

"If it is difficult to move lever 1 depress or release the accelerator pedal momentarily while moving the lever."

I owned a series 2 4x4 too. It wasn't necessary to stop, switching was able while lifting from the gas a bit.
