I hit 220km/h with 15 inches, so it should be about 200?

btw my speedo goes up to 120mph (damn English import!) in my Sud.... last weekend I saw the needle go round til it was vertical, pointing down. I have a 1.7 conversion, so that may have helped, also running 185/60/14s, and the car felt good as gold.... blasted past the boys in the Jappas who hit their speed cuts at 180km/h as well!

185 in the 1.3 IE L
205 in the 147 1.6
205 in the 156 1.9

Wink

The 146 1.7 goes 210 from experience, but they don't like speed trials and start to burn oil after a while.

close shot..

was behind a civic and started accelerating to let me go through..
he wanted the left lane so he started running..
in the end we were doing about 115-120 on a1 left lane.

where a1 meets m25 , just manage to see on the cars from m25 a cop and luckily managed to bring speed down withouth him noticing us..

A bit irrelevant but what anyone has experience on x19?

My topspeed of mij 16V is 235 km/h on the clocks with 7100rpm. Real topspeed i think is about 215 /220 km/h.

My rev limiter is set to 7300rpm. The topspeed was without a rear spoiler!

What do you mean exactly by 'nothing changes between 6500 and 7500 rpm'?

Surely, a standard 1.3 won't do 7500 rpm. If it did, the topspeed should be higher.

My s3 1.5IE did 200 km/h on the speedo the other day, stock rims and tyres.
It actually still felt pretty comfortable doing those speeds.

Well it is standard 1351 ( 1.4 IE L version ), and it reached topspeed at 6500 maybe 6700 rpm,
and i'm sure it can do 7500 it can even "close the clock". Btw it's a crap engine, now im preparing 1.7 16V turbo ( with T3/T4 hybrid turbo ).

my 1.4 ie (bosch) cuts off at 6200 - have you modified sth? however not many cars today is able to reach cut off point on 5nd gear i think (this is the reason i took my leg off the accelerator at ca. 190 on the clock - the cut off is rather 'brutal' and such a strong hitch on a corner at that speed could be a bit dangarous i think Smile.

btw - are you able to hold engine at cut off for a while, or is it like in mine - i't so harsh that i release accelerator in wory of engine falling out of the car....

greetings
marcin

My topspeed for a 1.7 8v 1991 on 195/50-15 tyres as measured with GPS on the german autobahn: 211 on the clock and 196,3 as per GPS.
Measured at 6200 rpm.
Car already did 333.333 km's.
