|
|
I have just swapped a motor over on a 1.7 EI.
motor was going ok before swap
installed with electronics, manifold etc originally on car recieving motor
Now can not get cold started without great difficulty.
Tried many things, but no better.
Could it be that I need to reseal inlet manifold to heads, or any other suggesions ?
Getteing desperate. |

If the car runs OK hot but badly cold, then one possible thing is that the ECU cooling temperature sensor is not working or not connected. simple enough to measure (back probe) both the signal and return voltages, I would expect. Alternatively, measure the resistance of the probe in the cold and hot condition and look for a sizeable difference.
Otherwise, need to go for a process of elimination. Try spraying carb spray around your intake manifold joints - carefully.
Best of luck.
