Hi, just wondering if someone could inform me of the difference between the sport version compared to the standard 16V cloverleafs. I know that in the 1992 the sport versions had recaro seats , but they eventually put these in the 1994 version as well (non-sport), did they make a sport version in 1994? Thanks.

In europe sport version had different coolant tank and plastic cap with somewhat higher preassure relese point.
Standard 16v had standard bottle with higher neck and metallic filler cap one like on standard radiator?
Someone else should be able to tell you exactly what are benefits of higher preassure, because I can only guess.

Hi... Very Happy
Seems that you are a bit mix up... Confused
There is not any Boxer 16v Sport without the QV. The QV, meens just that.-SPORT.
When the s3 33 was lauched there were 2 Boxer 16v. One was the Boxer 16v-Basically a 1.7 IE with the 16v engine. They were fitted with Alfa Control, the bumpers were not fully collor codded..

The other was the Boxer 16v QV... The sport model

After 1/2 years it was introduced the S 16v QV Permanent 4
In some markets the others name, was changed to S16v and S16v QV.
The S16v QV was also an sport model, but the Permanent 4 had different steering wheel, The RECARO seats, and 4wd...

In 93/94, almost in end of production of the 33, the Permanent 4 name was changed to Q4. The S16v QV desapeared, and the regular S16v received the Recaros. This generation of s16v and Q4, had the recaros covered in leather/alcantara.

interesting.

to quote the badges on the back of my 1992 car.
"33 S 16v * permanent 4"
the * is the little cloverleaf badge.

my last perm 4 was a 1991 car and that had the same badges on the back.
and the owners manual has a big letter S on the front and goes on about owning the sport model.
were all the perm 4's sport models?

btw, the water bottle in both my p4's were plastic with a metal cap.

Think I read somewhere the S (for Sport) models had different alloys.

RHD Alfas allways had to be different from LHD. ie Almost all LHD Alfas without ABS had rear drums and only ABS versions had rear discs, but you had some law that sad no no to AR ABS.

All Perm4 were Sport versions if you trust AR CD catalogue.

Here is complete of 33 I.E. 90-94 versions list from AR CD catalogue:

Apart from recaros and nardy steering wheel, the rear track width is wider and comes with rear disks.

in the netherlands was the difference between 16V QV S and the 16V QV only the wheels (p4 wheels instead the speedlines)

Recaro seeds, leather P4 steering wheel, ABS, disc braked back and sprinkler for the front light were optional

sorry for the poor engelish, but i hope you will understand me!
