Well yesterday i had the day off and since i got my bonus i decided to do few things on my Sprint that i should have done them while ago..
Well since the car was on hold for more than 7 years the brake pump was not working properly dye to corrupted seals. I mean i had a sponge fealling and from time to time i was loosing pressure whille i eas in traffic light. Well so far with historic review lets got to the guide.

First our thougt ( mine and my mechanic) was to sent the pump for rebuild so we started the dissmandling. We fisrts removed the fluid tank .

We found out that this relay was in the middle so it had to be removed...(Still dont know what is for though...)

Then we continued but removing brake lines...

After all lines were off we started removing the pump itself..

The next thing that troubled us was the bar. We didnt want to remove it also , too much trouble , so we tried with the bar on.(success)

Thats whats left after the pump removed...

Unfortunately on the exam of the old pump we descovered that it was damaged beyond repair so we ordered a new one . i must say it was quite cheap almost the same as if we would repair the old one.

The rest are in reverse order...

And the fliud tank on..

Well , thats not all , we had to remove air from the circuit but this is done in 2 stages. One from the above , on the pump and the lines and the 2nd stage in the wheels as usuall. The results were more than satisfactory , the feeling is much better and the braking is very improved.

Well lets continue with few more jobs ...

i had also problem with the quality and the quantity of the electric circuit probably due to worn alternator. It was also removed and send to be serviced. Unfortunately that hurt my pocket a little due to complete overhaul but it is brand as new now. Since i had the time i took the opportunity and brushed it a little to give it a vintage look. here are the results although i might add it looks better on the car..

After that i thought i should change the negative pole of the battery with a safety one for quick removal. Unfortunately (or fortunately as it proved later) it was to short for the emergency pole to be installed due to bar so i had to find another one. My mechanic Alex found another one which was longer and with bigger diameter.
I examined the old one and i fount that lots of the little wires of the cable were torn .

Also i cleaned the mounting points where the cable was for better contact.

Also i had stored some filters for the carbs so i decided to install them. Not a difficult job , just a little tricky..

The sound is awesome from the dual filters. Now with the refabrished alternator and the new ground cable the car start immediately and pulls really hard. also my other mechanic Takis tuned my carbs by ear after he discovered that the left one was starting earlier than the right carb. Thats the good thing when you have an old mechanic used with Alfas. They can understand from the sound when the carbs are unbalanced....

Oh and a small bonus. My reverse lights had a problem , the were on all the time , sometimes only one of them and i couldn't find out why. I told Takis and he said that this was a common problem most probably the cables were burned from the exhaust pipe and they need to be replaced so we did and now i have reverse lights at will.
