Hello guys! I have 33 with broken/not working(probably) speed sensor. English is some way difficult for me so i will try to explain it simply. There are three things that can be not functionally properly. First of them is the speed sensor that is in the gearbox. Second is the dashboard and the third is wire issues. I can obviously check the wire if only know how to disassemble the sensor from the wire. And where is the ground wire for the sensor? Here are some photos:

Hi Kriss,
Does the odometer work?
im guessing the speed needle doesn't move.
I once had a speedo that worked but the odometer got stuck.

I would try not to remove / replace the gearbox sender unnecessarily as they brake easy.
I would first check there is an output from the gearbox sender, by measuring it at the dashboard connector end, therefore eliminating the sender, i don't know what to expect, someone here should be able to advise you.
If that's ok i would dismantle the dial and lube up the gear from the motor, that worked for me. I also bent all the connectors on the blocks out, to make a tight connection and cleaned the console contacts with powerflux, this is used to prime copper piping for soldering and brings it back to original without sanding any away.

If odometer means the thing that counts miles and km ... it doesn't work too, but it is connected to the speed, when no speed is detected, it can't count mileage .. or i think so.

So, is it some way to remove the sensor from the wire to measure the wire/cable to the dashboard ?

Thanks anyway for the support buddy! Wink

A faulty speedometer/odometer is fairly common on 33s. Apparently they can be repaired with a bit of soldering but I haven't tried it myself.

The speed sensor is probably ok.

hey Kris.
I am going to fit my new dials today and try to permanently fit a T2 tester in the dash as well. If you want i could put my car on axle stands, run the engine in gear and see what comes out of the sensor, unless someone else can inform what is to be expected.

I use to believe that must be 0,5-0,7 and 5-12 volts ... but i will be thankful if you send me more info. Today i see what comes from the sensor - 0 volts with wheel spining ... maybe the dash board isn't the problem
