Mk2 33 1989 1.5 ti Amica. My offside brake cylinder is leaking need a new one, bought a motorquip one a year or so as spare but doesnt fit the brake drum backing plate (hole too small)its also slightly larger and the 2 bolt holes are further apart, the faulty one I have is a Bendix one but have seen there is a Delphi but not sure they will fit.

They should be the same as series 3 rear cylinders if I'm not mistaken. I probably have one here that would do the job as I put a complete new kit on last year but the cylinders I took off seem ok.

Oggie,

Here's the various pattern part numbers for an s3 which are quite possibly the same as s2:

N/S LHR=

lw21906, bwc3529, vwc521, bc362 (+possibly- bwc162)

O/S RHR=

lw21905, bwc3528, vwc520, bc363 (+possibly bwc 161)

Cheers John, I think the code for the Motorquip one I have is VW210, needless to say its the wrong one. Have ordered what is listed a replacement for the Bendix one by Delphi, hope its the right one.

I have been comparing the Bendix cylinder and motorquip one and disassembled them both, to my amazement the piston seals are the same bore size and width, so with a little persuasion I managed to swap seals and now have a full working cylinder. yay. Razz
