Anyone going to this Auto Italia event?

Been the last few years and it's usually pretty good.

I wouldn't mind trying to thrash the 33 up the test hill, except the bit where you have to stop at the top Rolling Eyes - I think Oggie's done it in his beast...

I went in my 33 and only spotted 2 others- the J.Haynes red s2 ARO7F, and a very faded s3 1.7ie.

Not a bad day Very Happy

Al,

This years one is on SATURDAY 4th.

http://www.auto-italia.co.uk/events.asp

I'm probably going either in my dad's Minari or my 33 if the weather isn't great.

It's a good event- lots of interesting cars usually there like Integrales, souped up air cooled fiat 500s etc etc and lots of boring modern ferraris and lambos if they float your boat Laughing

I'm slowly getting my 8 year old son into cars, ironically the start was via the playstation- a rally game. Problem is his favourite cars are peugeots (Mrs has a dull 308) at the moment. He enjoyed a recent trip to Brands but he can't make Brooklands.

My son is attached to his ipad and it is a problem and causes many arguments- i hate it. A friend got so fed up with his older son on his xbox he sneaked on a the timer- the result was his son smashed up his bedroom! Bring back bicycles and trees i say!

Luckily my Nephew is a calm chap, but sadly his parent's who have 3 other girl's, Dad a Caretaker/ Military gun nut play's silly 2 nd world war re-enactments as an American GI and doesn't involve his son nor daughter's ( he often pisses off for 3 day jaunt's to Germany to do this. This easter he spent 2 weeks making barbed wire out of string and sprayed it silver which ruined the lawn with no interaction with his kids.....saddo) and their Mum my wife's sister is busy being a Mum but also sadly has no outside interests at all. They just do not encourage him or them to play outside unless it's in the confine of the back garden also they have never even bothered to push him in to a sport or activity so his esteem seems a bit low.
That's why I have stepped in, I'm going to take him fishing in the Summer to see if he like's it otherwise it's a waste of a young person's life and ambition in my opinion.

Good on you Ian.

I'm often in trouble for painting bits of car and bike in the garage and making the house stink, but if I started painting string to make barbed wire for a war game i think my wife would leave.

ROTLPMSL
Went to brooklands and had a go at the hill climb.
All was going well, lit up the tyres in 1st gear, went to grab 2nd and nothing, doh! Had to do a hill start on a 1 in 4 incline and went up in tick over PMSL
Got caught on vid by 3 peeps lol
Gearbox has no 2nd now
Didn't do the second run Sad
I am so glad I managed to get to the top and not be faced with even more humiliation by having to roll backwards.

I saw Al' and Ian's (love the AR logo on the boot floor) cars parked up which I think were the only 33s in attendance?

Missed Al in the hillclimb- doh- Off to youtube to find it...
