This guide focuses on recognizing Helltides quickly, routing through the best drop locations, and using the right chests so you never waste a single event.

Helltides appear as large red‑shaded zones on the map and rotate through different regions on a schedule, so the first rule is simple: keep an eye on the world map whenever you finish an activity. As soon as a Helltide spawns, set a waypoint just outside the affected area to minimize travel time, then ride or teleport in and start killing immediately. The more of the Helltide timer you spend inside the zone, the more Cinders you turn into Living Steel.

Inside a Helltide, almost everything you do contributes to Living Steel access: monsters, events, and especially Cinder‑granting elites. Focus on dense areas with frequent spawns like clustered events, strongholds that have converted into Helltide zones, and cramped paths where enemies funnel toward you.
