Depending on the model, if the brake pads with the wear sensor wires are fitted, Gritsop is probably correct, but if the clutch /brake fluid level is low, though not below the minimum fill line, the light will light up if you are on a hill/slope. Top up the brake fluid to the max fill line and make it go away, otherwise fit new brake pads. As it is an intermittent, it probably will show either under acceleration or braking. If that is the case, it is definitely the brake fluid level.

Does it measure brake fluid pressure? I thought it just measured the level in the reservoir.
Put some more brake fluid in and see if the light stops coming on.
If so, the next question is where is the fluid leaking from?

Could be brake fluid pressure loss. Any "brake pedal to the floor" stuff going on?
Also, that light means different things depending on if you have the Alfa control fitted to the centre of the dash (under the radio)????

Hi,
Your brake pads are on their way out. The friction material has come low on level, the wire sensor touches the caliper body and the light is flashing.
As the pads wear out you will see the red light coming on more and more.
It is high time you had those pads replaced

Nitty

If it's same light that goes on when you pull up handbrake lever?
When light is on Handbrake is not all way down.
Other light next to it is for:
Brake fluid level is not on max.
Front brake pads wear indicator, when it is time to change them.

Post subject: Warning lights
Hi, i was recenlty given a alfa 33 and i love it however i didnt get an owners manual with it and i need a little help.
Yesterday when i was going up hill the 3rd light from the left on the top row that kinda looks like (!) kept flashing on. this light is has been coming on more and more as ive been driving the car. ive cheaked every fluid i can think off and cannot find what this warning might be. Could someone please let me know what it is and why it is coming on
Thanks
Nitty
