no no, no no no no, thers no picture
I was just refering to the details of car in profile being put in signature and avitar only linking to pictures still on your site.
So when you fill in your profile you put extra fields for colour, year, engine size ect and a field for picture which links as you do at the moment.
Im thinking for new members, it makes it a 1 stop deal and then you can do your magic and put the info in their avitar or their signature.
Hope im making sence

Hi
Not keen on putting it in the sig. There are still people on dial up, and any pictures in there would mean the page takes ages to load (be bad enough with our 512 broadband connection).
All the best

hey keith if your up for it, how about adding entries in ones profile for year, colour, engine size, series ect and automatically adding it to the signature?

Hi
That might actually be fairly easy to do.

see above post
Can we decide on one, i cant as both have their good / bad points, so i have posted in both.
For the introduce youself section you can go directly to what/whos car you want to look at, saving download time for those of us on dial up.
For the Member's cars thread, pics.......it takes longer to find an members car and takes a while if you are on dial up.
I still think that a modified avitar hot linking to either "Member's cars thread, pics......." or "introduce youself" would be great
comments....

Are we going to post pics in "introduce myself" or the sticky at the top?
A sticky will not be as organised as the "introduce myself" section. Just wondered as posting twice seems a bit silly, but ups ones postage count

Here you go. List of those who have created more than 10 posts since 1st Jan 2007 (I think, assuming I didn't screw the SQL up), with the number of posts.

What does 'notion' mean?!
I apologise for my limited brain capacity.
I had actually realised as soon as I'd posted it, but left it up for one reason - Where are all these 500+ owners?
It would be interesting to see how many members have created more than 10 posts over the past year.

On the oldschool.co.nz forum they also have a members cars section - it's just a normal forum area like this but the rules are you make only one thread about your car and nobody else is allowed to post in it.
Here's mine:

I wonder how many of those members are still active as the DVLA says there are only 596 33s left in the country. There can't be 400 Minari, camper van and kit car owners here!
Hey I've got a far out notion for you - maybe some of the members aren't from England!

on the 155 forum we have a members garage section, although each topic is locked, so the forum doesnt fill up with long threads, which with any forum always go off topic, so maybe worth incorperating that.

Hi
Having had to do some hacking around with phpBB for work I have figured out that some of it is easier than I thought.
So when I get a chance I might knock up a gallery. Probably do it by granting people permissions after a few posts (maybe open it to anyone with more than 50 posts).
All the best

what about making a sticky, with the subject of Gallery and only post pictures with owners comments, any other comments get deleted?
How does that sound admin??

Hi
A straight forum gallery would be easy (maybe a forum for pics with replies disabled). Doing it properly would be a load of work unless I could find an existing phpBB mod for it.
All the best

Only 8 votes!! come on people, surely you want to see all those other 33's?
Once its all set up it will be maintained by the member, now i dont do web pages but everything is in place.
setup a new forum, put up a simular page to the current pic gallery with a few layout changes, link members avatar to a space, if they want to participate, member then adds links to their pictures elsewhere on the web like facebook or picture bucket, one of these links is then put up as a thumbnail for pic gallery.

I'd like to see a picture lounge as described, not sure how much work it would be for the admin though.

yer, that would do, but if we got rid of all the gumph and only had larger pictures with a number above or below the picture that related to the users membership number. Once you clicked the first picture you’re taken inside where it shows details of the owner and mods to the car, all this can be managed by the member, so no one has to manage it.
If you modified our avatar to say our member number it would be easy to quickly look at someone’s car, or if you click on someone’s avatar it takes you to their pictures, if they have put a link to any.
You could either do it so its like a different forum, as in after you go into look at the pictures one could post comments.
What do you guys and girls think?
