Im not sure that it affects the handeling that much, (appearance) although i will say that when i did it to my 1st alfa it handled very well. That was dropped 60mm at the front and 80mm at the rear. This was accomplished by using a sud springpan and sud springpan bearing. The suds springpan is a good inch deeper, however you end up with serious negative camber. I didnt get round to changing that by filing out the bottom 3 holes of the strut and tyres were wearing out on the inside after only 2 mnths
but it was worth it for the handeling.

Sorry, don't know the answer to your questions but have a question of my own. How does the 33 handle now it's (almost) level? I've always felt the car is balanced better with the front lower than the rear, it seems more stable in corners that way and doesn't wheelspin as much.
This is based on the P4's i've owned and the series 2 sportwagon which i ended up lowering at the front only.

Always looks as it it’s under braking otherwise. It’s just a personal preference, to me it would look better than the back sitting higher. Id like it like my old 1988 33 was, that was level, as in both the tops of the tyres were level with the wheel arch.
So anyone RE: turrets / top rubbers

you want the front to be lower than the back for better aerodynamics and it looks better too.

why do u want the cat to sit level? , my car is well high at the back - a little too much but i wouldnt want it level, i like the stance

Post subject: no top rubber on rear springs
I have eibach springs and have koni sport top adjustable shocks on the rear, these have been shortened and modified by koni for an 80mm drop. Due to this when the car is jacked up so the wheels are off the ground the springs do not become loose. Would removing the top rubbers cause any problems.
I ask this as i need to lower the rear a little to get the car to sit level. I have already changed the rubbers for the shortest available.
I have heard that the S version allowed the spring to sit higher in the turret therefore making the rear lower. How was this achieved? Was the flat doughnut metal disk in the turret made thinner? If so how does one take this out to change or machine?
The other option is to get spring clamps (eerk) or get special springs made, or find what springs i had on my 1988 veloce 33, as that did drop by 80mm and maybe fit them, but i dont want to mix different springs
