| To my knowledge the police here dont test car emissions, they check trucks for red diesel, overweight etc, but cars, not that ive heard. |

I don't know about England but in France the old bill do random roadside emission testing. Any '93+ car with carbs ain't going to pass.
Anyway good luck!!

That yellow 33 was built by Lloyd at clovertech...
It's an S2 with mk 1 door trims and dials, the leather seats are out of a 145 i think.
Still had a scary 1.8 lump in it when it was on ebay a few weeks back, is that what's going in to the red S3? definately gonna need a sympathetic MOT centre for that one if so!
Is it destined for the scrapyard once the engine and suspension are stripped? |

i think hes going to keep the carbs on the engine when he puts it in the newer 33 .
p.s as i got the 33 cheap and the title to this thread is not meant to be disrespectful to the 33s as i know i got lucky with that cars price and a mint 33 with mot and tax still fetch good money as they are nice cars as i have had a few in the past.
if i had the space i would love another 1.7 veloce 33 that was the bset one i have owned in metallic grey alan will tell you it was a nice car.(i miss it ). |

Cool, but IMHO suds handle better with the inboard brakes- i guess they may not be upto stopping the car so well with a 1.7 though.

Glad the good shell is being put to use, but is he keeping the identity of the s2 - reshelled, or keeping the identity of the s3? I think there could be problems getting a '93 car thru an MOT (emmissions wise) with s2 lump.
Good luck with it all, and it's much better than a perfectly good s3 giving up a few parts to be scrapped.
Cheers,

me my brother mark and his mate deano paid a third each on a 33 1.7 ie and got it on ebay for £70 and it is mint ,me and mark are having the engine and box and running gear to change our sud tix to 33 running gear
plus 1.7 engine and as deano has a earlier 33 that is a bit rusty with uprated engine and suspension he is going to put the suspension and engine into the later shape 33.
all im going to say ebay sometimes has a bargain keep looking even thought we had to go to southampton.
i have had a look round the 33 and there is no rust anywhere . |
