My last tank of fuel was mainly motorway or fast A-roads and I did 356 miles with 9.9 gallons. My best previous consumption figure was about 33.5. Interestingly it was a tank full of the new Shell 95 octane that claims to have a new efficiency additive. I had to fill up with BP, it will be interesting to see what the next tank gives me.
Hi
My P4 couold barely stretch to 30mpg.
The old 1.3 carbed series 3 would manage 39mpg on a long motorway run sitting at 80~90mph. But then it would also be down at 20mpg around town.
All the best
Keith

Post subject: 36mpg / 356 miles on a tank
My last tank of fuel was mainly motorway or fast A-roads and I did 356 miles with 9.9 gallons. My best previous consumption figure was about 33.5.
Interestingly it was a tank full of the new Shell 95 octane that claims to have a new efficiency additive.
I had to fill up with BP, it will be interesting to see what the next tank gives me.
