Post subject: NBA 2K26 Update 1.04 Delivers Key Fixes for Previous-Gen Pla

While most of the hype around NBA 2K26 has centered on the current-gen experience for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, players on previous-generation consoles have not been left behind. With the release of version 1.04 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, 2K Sports has made it clear that they still aim to support and refine the experience for millions of gamers who haven’t yet made the leap to newer hardware.
This new patch comes after a series of early-game issues, including gameplay inconsistencies, minor bugs in MyCareer, and sluggish menu performance. Version 1.04 addresses several of these problems and brings welcome stability to a game that had a somewhat shaky launch on older consoles.
One of the most significant improvements in version 1.04 is the overall gameplay balance. While it doesn’t introduce major overhauls, the patch smooths out animations, enhances player responsiveness, and reduces input lag — especially noticeable in online play. Defensive rotations feel tighter, shot contests are more consistent, and player collisions seem more natural. These small tweaks make the core basketball experience feel much more fluid and enjoyable.
MyCareer, one of the most popular modes on previous-gen platforms, has also seen a number of quality-of-life fixes. Many users reported issues with badge progression and challenges not tracking properly. With this patch, those problems appear to be resolved, allowing players to progress their characters without hitting frustrating roadblocks. Additionally, minor updates to cutscene triggers and event rewards show that the developers are listening to community feedback.
Another area of improvement is MyTeam. Stability has been a concern since launch, especially during online matches and when navigating menus. The 1.04 patch has reportedly reduced crashes, shortened loading times, and improved matchmaking in competitive modes. While the previous-gen version of MyTeam lacks some of the newer features found on PS5 and Series X, this update brings it closer to a polished and playable state.
It’s also worth noting that the Nintendo Switch version of NBA 2K26 received the 1.04 update at the same time as PS4 and Xbox One. The Switch version has often lagged behind in both performance and patch timing, so it’s a positive sign to see simultaneous support across all previous-gen platforms. While it still suffers from some graphical limitations, the patch improves frame rates and responsiveness, making gameplay feel less compromised compared to its console counterparts.
Beyond gameplay and stability, patch 1.04 introduces minor cosmetic updates as well. Player likenesses have been adjusted for several athletes, jersey details have been refined, and crowd animations have been slightly optimized. These may not be game-changing updates, but they contribute to a more polished overall presentation.
Version 1.04 shows that 2K Sports still values its legacy player base. While it’s clear that the development focus is now centered on next-gen platforms, this update demonstrates that previous-gen users are not being ignored. With so many players still on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch, ongoing support is essential to maintaining a healthy and engaged community.
In conclusion, NBA 2K26 version 1.04 for previous-gen consoles is a solid patch that enhances stability, improves gameplay responsiveness, and fixes key issues across multiple modes. It’s a much-needed step forward and a reassuring sign for those still enjoying the game on older hardware.
