Post subject: Ranked Battle Favorites: 5 Pokémon to Excel in the Mega Shi
The Mega Shine Meta is currently dominating ranked play in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Please visit

With so many strong Pokémon to choose from, it can be overwhelming to determine which ones will provide the best results. In this article, we highlight five of the best Pokémon to consider for your ranked battles, based on their synergy with the current meta and their ability to turn the tide of a match in your favor.
1. Mega Charizard Y
When it comes to powerful Mega Evolutions, Mega Charizard Y is hard to beat. Its ability, Drought, boosts the power of Fire-type moves, allowing it to dish out punishing attacks like Flare Blitz or Fire Blast. These moves can deal massive damage, especially when boosted by Drought, and can wipe out several Pokémon in a single blow.
Moreover, its Fire Spin attack can trap opposing Pokémon, making it even harder for them to escape and recover. This makes Mega Charizard Y an essential pick for the Mega Shine Meta, where the ability to deal consistent, high-damage hits is crucial for success.
2. Mega Lucario
For players who like versatility, Mega Lucario brings the heat with both its Steel and Fighting-type attacks. Known for its offensive prowess, Mega Lucario can hit hard with moves like Aura Sphere or Iron Tail. Its ability, Adaptability, allows it to deal even more damage when it targets an opponent’s weaknesses, making it incredibly difficult to counter.
What sets Mega Lucario apart in the Mega Shine Meta is its ability to outspeed many other Pokémon in the game. In ranked battles, speed is essential, and Mega Lucario can often strike first, dealing heavy damage before the opponent has a chance to retaliate.
3. Mega Gengar
For players who prefer strategic and disruptive gameplay, Mega Gengar offers a powerful blend of offense and control. Its ability, Shadow Tag, prevents opponents from switching out, which is extremely effective against Pokémon trying to flee or avoid certain matchups.
On top of that, Mega Gengar has access to strong Ghost-type moves like Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb, which can take down opponents quickly. It’s also very fast, allowing it to move before many threats. With the ability to trap opposing Pokémon and unleash powerful attacks, Mega Gengar is an excellent choice in the Mega Shine Meta.
4. Mega Blaziken
Mega Blaziken is a fantastic option for players who value speed and offensive pressure. With its Speed Boost ability, it gains a boost to its speed every turn, allowing it to outspeed most of the competition after a few turns. This makes it ideal for hit-and-run tactics, as it can unleash devastating Fire- and Fighting-type moves like Flare Blitz and High Jump Kick.
Its ability to quickly power up and sweep the opposition makes it a key player in ranked battles. Mega Blaziken also has a relatively high base Attack stat, making it capable of knocking out opposing Pokémon in a single hit when it gains the speed advantage.
5. Mega Mawile
Mega Mawile is a standout in the Mega Shine Meta, particularly when it comes to its defensive capabilities. With its Huge Power ability, it doubles its attack stat, making it a dangerous offensive force. Paired with moves like Play Rough and Iron Head, Mega Mawile can deal significant damage to both Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokémon.
What makes Mega Mawile especially potent in the Mega Shine Meta is its resistance to common attack types and its ability to tank hits while setting up counter-attacks. This makes it a reliable Pokémon in both offensive and defensive situations, and one that can often outlast tougher foes.
