DON'T USE A SPRAY WASHER on the engine covering the ECU or not
The consequences could be rather expensive. |

I have had to cut them out in the past with a stanley knife as the bolts have sheared. As long as you only put a single cut into the bumper you can put a new bolt in and nip it up tight.

Sounds like it's most likely a noisy injector as the noise stops when you disconnect it. Failing that a broken piston ring or maybe a small/big end bearing. Take the sump off and check for movement ... |

Measure the wheel base on both sides they should be identical. \If not the car has been crashed and not jigged and the car may be crabbing, this would lead to uneven tyre wear. (Ever the optimist). ... |

Just wondered if you were getting combustion gasses blown into the engine as this can give you that sound or a damaged/sticking inlet valve blowing into the manifold, (I hope not) |

Take the oil filler cap off and look for an excessive amount of pressure (air/combustion gasses) coming out. |

Just a thought, didn't the 33 Diesel use an Audi block?? If so would a 2.2 Audi 5 cylinder unit not drop in if you got a 33 diesel gearbox?? |
