How old is the battery? If it is 3 years old or more the most likely suspect is the battery.
Do you have access to a Voltmeter? Check the Voltage across the terminals when the alternator is running ... |

If it was that easy to interface I can't understand other posts that I have read stating that the impulse from the sensor is so small. Sounds like a pull-up with a j-fet will suffice .. and then maybe ... |
