I am thinking of buying a 33 with injection and then bolt on the carburettors from the one I have now. What kind of changes does that require? Parts wont be a problem since I have a complete carb model to steel from. _________________ /Michael

Hi
Shouldnt be a problem. You might need to swap over the intake manifold from your spare engine though. You also might have problems if the injection engine is from a later 33 with motronic injection as they were not equiped with distributors
All the best

I presume it's a 1.7ie (8V) you're getting? _________________ Hugh B

It's a 1,7 8v ie from 1990, so I guees it wont be a problem with the injection system then? _________________ /Michael

Nope, that's great. Exactly as Keith says - should bolt straight on (and do include the carbie inlet manifold). _________________ Hugh B

What about the fuel pump and lines? I've heard that they should be changed too. And anything else? _________________ /Michael

Hi
The carb car fuel pump is on the engine. Dont know if there will be a facility for it on the inhected engine, so you will have to check that. You dont need to worry about the fuel lines and pump as you are (I think) intending to use the carbs (if you were fitting the engine complete with fuel injection then you would need to change the fuel lines and wire in a high preasure fuel pump, etc)
All the best

I should be added that you can't use the pump setup from an injected car - the pressure will be far too high for the carbs. Either mechanical pump or low pressure electric pump should be used - you only need about 3-3.5 psi for webers/dellortos.

If your fitting the carbs, you should remove the catalytic converter as well.
With these modifications you may not pass your country's emissions rules for newer cars. _________________ 1988 Sprint 1.7 QV (35,000 miles) |

I did the conversion recently with the help of some guys here.
-distributor
-carb with linkage
-fuel pump for carbs(mine is an electric low pressure pump from a honda)
-throttle linkage
-preferably your QV exhaust as well(they're unique for 1.7QV)
Good luck!
please let me know whether the QV has a longer ratio. Thanks. Coz my experience with a few QV gearbox is that they are slightly longer. I need to confirm. _________________ Each time I speed I say, "Dear lord, make me fast and accurate..." |

Hi
At the top of the screen there is an icon towards the left that looks vaguely like a pair of gears (I know, I cannot draw). Click on that and you will find a list of most of the gear ratios used in the Sud and 33.
All the best

Whats te reason to do that? 110 hp for the ie and 118 for the carb one...But ist easier just to reprogramme the ie??? I also have the 1,7 8v ie and seems to be fast enough.... isnt she? |

Can someone direct me to another forum where I can get good advice on carb settings? Tried asking here many times but had no answer. Thanks. |
