Hi
This morning I have received loads of bounced emails, where the original email seems to have originated from here.
Anyone had any through? Any noticeable pattern?
Apologies for this.
All the best

Hi,
I was getting about 400 a day bounced back to one of my domains a few weeks ago. Some scumbag was sending out spam about Kittens or something using dozens of aliases ending in my domain name as the 'sender'.
The recipients spam filters bounced most of them back to me, as my domain was set up to receive anything@mydomain.com. Reset the incoming mail to only a couple of contacts, and the rest goes to trashcan.
The bouncebacks have dried up at my end, but there may still be hundreds of emails bouncing around in cyberspace with my domain on!

Just make sure you don't post your email address anywhere on the internet, such as in guestbooks. This is how 'Robots' pick them up, and you get bombarded with junk.
My mum counted 8000 junk mails in 2 weeks in her account, now she has to change her address - makes you sick. |

Hi
Cheers. I was worried someone had found a way to hack phpBB to send out emails in bulk.
All the best

You can bet if there was this wouldn't be the only board affected, and an update would have been issued by now. I've certainly not had notification of any updates in the last few days, you are subscribed for update notifications aren't you As long as you've installed the latest version (2.0.17) it should be ok.
SPAM with spoofed email addresses is just something that comes with owning your own domains I had a whole batch earlier this week and last week on a couple of my domains. _________________ Cheers
