my car is the boxer with the side skirts and all that jazz and i love it. But recently i was changing a tyre and was trying to get the trolley jack under the car but couldnt through the side (too low) even from the front i just about got it in and found a spot and done it (very dodgey). ive looked in the handbook but it does not specify any asigned jacking points.
anyone?[/list] |

I had new tyres put on my car recently and they managed to trolley jack it up okay.
I always use the factory jack, turning it with a ratchet. Alfa's patented Really Long Travel Suspension (tm) means you get a good arm workout before the jack lifts the tyre clear of the ground. |

Hi,
The jacking points are in each corner near the sills, and look like doorstops abbout 2 inch diameter. They should poke thru any plastic stuff, but you may have to move some plastic covers on some side skirts.
You can use a trolley jack on the front crossmember and the rear axle, mind the fuel tank!!

Hi
I also had this type of problem with my 16v. I had a front flat tyre, and when trying to get the standard jack under the car, it didn´t fit...
My car isn`t lowered, and has the side skirts (it is the Boxer 16v Q.V.).
The car is however lower than the standard 16v, because my car is fom 1992, and it seems that it adopted the same springs used by the Permanent4...(it also has the same "turbine" wheels)
What i find strange, is that Alfa didnt noticed this and sold the car this way...
My solution??
-Found a VW Golf II jack, cuted the top of the Alfa jack (the part that fits in the car body) and welded it to the Golf jack...
Advantages:
-The new jack now fits without trouble.
-The opening of the jack doesnt require any tools.
-And finally, it takes 1 minute to raise the car.
Hope this helps

What is odd is that the standard jack does fit out 33 which has been lowered by 30 mm. |

Hi
Alfa have continued with this idea. My step mothers GTV has a jack which will not fit under the car when it has a flat tyre.
All the best
