Btw, does anyone know if there is anything like a freeware or software programm that could be used to increase the bhp of an alfa?
(a friend of mine who just moved from carbs to ie was asking. Is there
such a thing? can you effect performance through software?)

Hi
Dont think you can do anything with the stock injection. However there are loads of aftermarket fuel injection systems most of which can be programmed with a laptop
Triumph motorbikes use a fuel injection system that can be reprogrammed with a laptop (keeps the fuel and ignition maps in flash memory), and Aprilia and Peugeot scooters with direct fuel injection 2 strokes engines can have the ecu updated with a Gameboy (yes, really) if you have the correct lead and cartridge
