Hi
Join the club. They are no longer available.
Wonder what the min order quantity is to get some made up.
All the best

What would be the effect of using normal 16v springs? the BOGE part numbers for the shocks are the same, so I would imagine they should fit? I could cope with slightly higher ride at the front to get a decent drive again! |

Hi,
there are reasons why P4 is lower at front then regular 16v, and higher at back then any other fwd series 3 33.
- 4x4 operating mechanisam (angles under which 4x4 componets join/wok)
- stability
- and not to forget more agressive look (if you turn blind eye on rear wheel arch hole)
What would happen, well original rear shocks are all gas type ones, so for sure they'll get even more load to take care of, and under normal circunstances they don't last too long.
I have right side strut from 16v that I bought for yellow Koni insert, so next week I'll compare right side 16v with P4 spring and write here. _________________ Tino Vatavuk

Good news (for me)
-16v front Konis (862448) can be fitted to front Sachs aftermarket shocks for 16v/P4.
Bad news,
it seems that I taken that right strut from Sport version of 16v, I have to verify shock numbers tommorow but it's most likely.
Right side strut with original BOGE shocks is exactly same height in/out of car as my original P4 springs with Sachs aftermarket shocks.
Springs are same height, thicknes 16mm? and number of turns 3.75.
Only 16v Sport model of all FWD 33s had same stiffer springs and shorter shocks as P4 do.
There is note in qPer(Alfa catalogues before it) that states 16v models after 06/1991 have been fitted with modified springs/shocks that lower car like Sport version of 16v and P4 do, but it is still different part number for them.
With all that in mind and in your place I would probably
- try to find 90-92 year 16v with S letter (or Sport word) behind,
- if that fails probably order order new springs for 16v
or as cheaper solution try to find any 16v from 06/91-end of 92 struts on scrap yard.
They would lift car a bit up, but not as pre 91 16v ones or even worse 8v versions.
Details and pictures of Koni inserts fited are to follow in a few days. _________________ Tino Vatavuk

Part number on that front right Boge shock I got from fwd 16v I assumed was Sport version is:
60544917
EPER gives back that number as 4x4 Sport version, and for many others 1.3, 1.5 and 16v "Sport look like" lowering. Totaly confused by this second one. _________________ Tino Vatavuk
