Hello
What year saw the introduction of the injection engines? Reason I'm asking is, one of my friends has this 88 QV equipped with an injection engine. At first I thought it was just a replacement engine, but when he told me there was no choke warning light or handle I began to doubt. The car is imported from Switzerland, could this have any importance?
Thanks in advance _________________ /Michael

Hi
UK models got injection in 1990, but some countries with stricter emmisions laws got the 33 fitted with fuel injection a bit earlier. It was (I think) either 1987 or 1988 that the 33 was first built with injection. For example the book Alfa Romeo Down Under, From Sud to 164 lists the 33 as getting to Australia with fuel inejction in December 1988
All the best

If you have those pdf copies of the 33 manual (Alfa 33 Manual Supplement) that can sometimes be downloaded from various places, you will find it covers some of the injected cars (but not 16 valve) and is dated 1988. |
