Can anyone tell me what the differences are between a fuel injected fuel tank and non-fuel injected?
Also is their differences again on the 16V tank?

The carb tank is different to the fuel injected tank.
The 8v and 16v injected tanks are the same.

hi, besides there are two different tanks as Alfa modified the routing of fuel pipes during production. they can be switched though but swapping from one model to another requires a little plumbing with some rubber hose.

Not sure if there are any shape/size differences... but, the injected tanks have to have a fuel return hose going to them, whereas the non-injected don't.

So apart from the fuel return pipe are there ay other differences?
Is the fuel pick up and sender unit still in the same place i.e. in the middle at the top? If it moves wheres it moved to?
Where about on the fuel tank is the fuel return inlet?
Thanks for your help guys rsfruitbat |

Thanks for that johnboy.
What happened to your old tank? Did it turn into orange Italian pixie dust?
Where did you mount the new one. Same place?
I mounted my tank where the back seat used to be in a steel housing and I had the filler neck moved onto the top so it could double as a breather.
General opinion is that I think I will be able to carry on using my existing tank but I need to fit a swirl pot into the fuel line.
Asked AHM about the "fuel pulsation damper" and he said he throws them away. Just fits an adjustable pressure regulator which luckily I have.

I found a place called Alloy Racing Fabrications (07968 835805) that'll do one for £53 delivered. They will make it to any spec you like. Ordered mine yesterday so I will let you know what it's like.

Received my swirl pot today. Looks particularly sexy. Pity that it will be enclosed in a petrol proof box so no-one will see it. It tips the scales at 464.5 g. Lets hope the damn thing does the job.
