..but it's one of those bars that go between the tops of the front struts. For sale on fleabay.fr http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360017061878&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=023
and suitable for the three nut struts on Imolas, Trofeos and my 1.3 i.e.
Is this purely a racey thing or does it prevent the inside of the front tyres wearing early?
I will be putting an anti-roll bar on soon and having the front geometry done. Just wondered whether it's worth bidding for this. If so what sort of price?
If somebody else wants it desperately let me know so we don't bid against one another. I'm sure I can live without it. _________________ Alfa33 QO 1984

I think what you are referring to is a strut brace. The idea behind it is that it reinforces the strut top mounts in the body shell and maintains the distance between them. This should assist in maintaning suspension geometry.
In simple terms if you turn sharply it should go round corners better.
The anti-roll bar works on the bottom end. When you turn sharply the body will roll loading up the outside suspension. By connecting O/S and N/S suspension it limits the amount of roll and tries to stop the inside wheel lifting by keeping the body level. 4 wheels in contact with road is better and faster than 2.
I think

Lol thanks for the info.
I might have a stab at it. I don't know what price they go for. I may get it cheap as it's the three nut jobby. _________________ Alfa33 QO 1984

I bought mine (also a 3 bolt one) brand new for £50 inc postage - its made by OMP and it stiffens the front end pretty well.. _________________ 1994 33 16v

Wouldn't have thought that it would make a lot of difference on a 33 as the top mounts are well braced laterally with two bulkheads. Of more importance are the angled braces from the bulkhead to the rails as in the s3. I also suspect that an X brace picking up the corners of the engine bay would add to torsional rigidity because then the radiator mount would be forced to act as a beam in conjunction with the middle bulkhead. The inner guards being a little weak for that purpose.
