Hi all happy new year and all that..
Have just got back from summer hols and decided to get my 89 Alfa33 1.5 up and running prior to repainting. Have recently
rebuilt gearbox re fitted new clutch, new front rotors and discs, fitted new cambelts and idlers new plugs and leads in anticipation of using the car as my daily runner..Car starts fine but and seems to rev OK under no load but appears to misfire badly and run on 3 cylinders when
run on the road. Could this be crap in the jets of the downdraft carbs? or possibly a cracked distributer cap?? or some other electrical problem, any advise would be appreciated, as I wont to get the old girl up and running again. Crying or Very sad

I'd check the leads aren't old and unable to hold load.

I had this once, and the crap was in a jet that handled low to medium loads. When I floored it or let it rev enough, the car went back to 4 cylinders.

This is too mechanical for me, but what would be the symptoms of getting a timing belt a tooth or so out?

When a dealer did it to my fathers 1.3 series 3, rough running and a bit down on power.

All the best
