Sounds like a short in the wiring harness that includes the door, the channel going from the door to the pillar, or in the pillar itself. Remove the door panel and check the connections, condition of the wires etc. THe problem could be in the channel that carries the wiring harness. Also check to see that there is sufficient free-play / length in the harness as it returns to the body, so that wires are not stretched. _________________ Chris Notsis |

Thanks for your reply chris but i found what the problem was a blown fuse! Which took 2 seconds to replace. Its all good. _________________ 91 Alfa Romeo 33 16v * SOLD*

Good point - but what caused the fuse to blow? Given this circuit is a high-load one, it might still be worth looking for an obvious cause, such as the ones I described. The forensic engineering I do tends to always compel me to look one step back, at least. _________________ Chris Notsis |

I tend to agree with Chris. The elecronics of the Alfas are such that you need to sometimes look beyond the simple fix. For example, we had dim backup light, which was caused by the connectors being able to shift sideways a little bit, which resulted in the light not bein up to spec. _________________ John H
