I'm determined to make it to Spa but my car is trying desperately to stop me..............AGH!!! Twisted Evil
Since my other troubles a couple of weeks ago the car's been running fine but at the weekend it started to run poorly. When I first start it it will run ok until it starts to warm up and then it will splutter and miss and then clear itself and then return to spluttering (and so on).
My first thoughts are turning to fuel delivery and in particular the injectors. I have access to a sonic bath If that is the case but what fluid would be used to do this??

Any thoughts much appreciated.

I will get there!!!!

Hi,

Does your car have a lambda probe?

If it's missing under load, with a flatspot/ generally running like a bagash&te could be this.

When it wouldn't start recently, if you cranked it over a lot without firing, the unburnt fuel could've harmed the lambda maybe???

Only other ideas could be choked up fuel filter or dodgey fuel pump. Does it do it if the tank is full(if you can afford to fill it Rolling Eyes )

Hope that helps

John

Hi John, thanks for the reply.
I actually filled it up just before it started to have a wobbly so maybe i've stirred up some shi*e in the tank (let's face it there must be a fair bit of rusty sludge in there) so i'll start with the cheapest option of a new filter. I may whip the tank off and inspect the damage.

I'm still quite interested in the sonic bath question if anyone knows.

Cheers, Lee
