A bit strange to drain the battery Confused - wouldn't be much use after storing for 13 years anyway, full or drained....

I've always reckoned the best thing is to sell or give away the battery if storing a car for a long time.

I also think the engine block and water passages are better protected if left completely full with a "permanent" anti-corrosive glycol based antifreeze mixture.
I would be a bit concerned to have an engine left empty with nice damp insides for that long, especially with ally heads and water pump etc.

I'd be concerned too about the insides of the brake system. I even worry about the cars I don't use much.

I try to change the brake fluid every two years, even though it's pretty dry here and they are in the garage. It takes only about 1/2 litre of fluid per car. I drain the reservoir, fill with new fluid, pressurise it to about 15psi with air, then bleed each wheel until I get clean fluid, refilling the reservoir as necessary. The trick is to finish with the reservoir at about the right level Very Happy
