|
|
there is a solenoid mounted on the firewall of my 33, A big cylindrical thing which a vacuum hose on the carby passes through. Anybody know what this is? Its not mentioned in the manual anywhere. The carby is the 32/36 weber fitted to the earlier models. Ive experimented cutting the power to it while the engines running, but there was no change??? Very curious

Is it an anti run on valve that dumps air in the manifold when you turn the ignition off? _________________ '93 Black 33 1.7 16v |

Possibly, I cant be sure without asking an Alfa mechanic and its not an issue, just a curiousity. However, the carby already has an anti-run on solenoid which cuts fuel to the idle circuit when the ignition is turned off, so it would seem like a redundant system _________________ 1985 33, getting faster every day. |

I dont know if that is what i'm thinking, need a picture to confirm, but i think it's related to the AC compressor, to change the spark timming ( ignition advance )...
Is it between the carb, and the distributor vacumm piece? _________________ Carpe diem!!

my old renault fuego had a solanoid attached to the weber carb which was a fuel shut off if the car had rolled on to the roof, it looks simular just not in the same place. _________________ PHAT 33 |
