This will comes as a surprise to Alex as we were dicussing next year's SAD in the week but I have come to the conclusion (for real this time) that the 33 has to go. I've really enjoyed having it as one of our everyday cars over the last three years but it takes a little looking after and the older it gets the more it's going to tkae and it is distracting from other things (getting my Fiat Dino back on the road being one of the main things). Add in Sarah's reluctance to drive it and the decsion is made. We just need an everyday box that's just a tool that I don't have to think about.

I shall be sorry to see it go but I know this is the right decsion.

So I'd appreciate your thoughts on pricing.

It's a two owner '93 16v with Recaro interior in black with just under 60k on the clock. until three years ago it had done 35k and been garaged when not in use so bodily it is excellent with no significant (and very little insignificant rust).

On the plus side:

Well maintained by AHM.
Recent Longlife stainless exhaust
Recent cambelts inc. tensioners
Spare set of wheels with winter tyres
Comprehensive set of spares

Downsides

A few minor (supermarket) dings in the body
Some wear to the drivers seat and a couple of splits in the viny
Inevitable bumper fading though they polish up OK

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I've not seen your 33 Jeremy since you came to my work place in it 2 years ago but it certainly was tidy then. With a good clean & a healthy MOT ticket i would expect it to sell for at least £750. I've just sold an L reg ie for £650.
I'll ask around for you.

Shrew has his 16v ie on Ebay at the mo, has a few hours left to go but is currently on about £650. Yours Jeremy is higher spec with the 16v spoiler, skirts, fogs ect so should fetch a higher price.
His is a rare model being a 16v ie (only ever imported for 1 year) but in truth it is just an ie spec car with a 16v engine.
Food for thought sir Very Happy

I guess it all depends how quick you need to get rid of it?

Ebay will give you a quick sale but you run the risk of not achieving it's worth.

Personally I'd stick a few ads about (pistonheads etc) I've seen a few about recently around the 1200 mark (no idea if they sold for that though?) but you can only try. I've heard yours is very tidy and you could catch someones eye with it and get lucky.

It must be a hard decision.......I've been thinking about getting rid of mine recently aswell as I have less time these days but just can't bring myself to do it.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for your thoughts follks. It's is a nice one Lee though not perfect. I'd hoped for at least £1500 (it's got £500 worth of stainless exhaust and a few hundreds worth of cambelt change in it). You could buy a cheaper one then pay more getting it right. I'm happy to wait until (hopefully) someone who can see that will come along. You never know I may still have it come SAD next year.

That's pretty much my tactic, ads on piston heads and here and in practical classics.

It is a very had decision but I already have my mk2 Sprite as a fun car and the Dino has been off the road for too many years.

I washed the Alfa yesterday and it's looking smashing:
