Hi All,

Just to let you know, I am back in the folds of 33 ownership again!, thanks to Alex and Shrew, I am now the owner of a red/pink P4.

Its going to be a while before she is on the road, and back to her former glory!, But the basis of a decent car, we think are there.

She is being kept at Shrew's workshop where work starts next weekend, and I am looking forward to it!

No doubt there will be endless questions and bits needed!

Does anyone know how many P4's there are on the road ?

Matt

I also have a pink/red P4 currently sorned and needing welding, painting, and overhaul. Likely to start work in June on it.

Mark (Vantastic) has a black one on the road, and there is a white one up in Stornowey advertised on Gumtree.

I am sure there must be others, but numbers on DVLA are down to about a dozen it seems (taxed or sorned)

Good evening!

How we all doing?

Take my advice MC... if the pink paint worries you... GET A RESPRAY.

You simply can't fix it with polishing products and the like! I spent nearly as much on them as a respray and it was still the same after!

All the best,

Bob

According to my figures which were last updated in July 2011, there are 39 P4's in the country and 11 of those are taxed.
The one on Gumtree belongs to a friend of mine. Harry Miller and is one of the best examples left. Very Happy
Fingers crossed this one you now have Matt is going to be a good one, will see you soon.

Thanks Guys!

Not that many left at all then, So I will try my hardest to save it, within my modest budget!

Bob, going to have a go at mopping it first, as there is 'some' decent paint on it, as that will cost next to nothing to do, and then think about a respray.

Just trying to source a few bits to get it running properly and help build a better picture, so if any one can help with a fuel tank & fuel lines, As typically when I sold my last one I included a shed full full of parts in with the sale...........

You need a P4 fuel tank mate? That's a design unique to the P4 I'm afraid. You could try what I did with POR15 tank sealer - seemed to stop the leaking.

All the best,

Bob

This type of thing Bob ?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/por-15-fuel-petrol-sealant/dp/B000H9K4JQ

I know the chance of finding a replacement is virtually nil, same as finding someone to weld it I guess!

Yes mate... that's the one!

The tank I had was totally perforated in the seams and was "pouring" rather than dripping! Laughing

There's a lot of preparation required and all this blurb on the can about how it's done. Take a lot of time with the prep.

And don't forget to thoroughly stir the sealant! *Someone* didn't do that and made a bit of a mess of it! Laughing

Sealed mine a treat though and didn't leak again (at least for the 18 months following the repair when I still had the car).

Thanks Bob,

The tank is in a pretty bad way so I will certainly take my time with it and do a thorough job!

What you smoking around in these days ?

Can't really blame you there Bob!

I would certainly be up for it if the car is ready and I can get the time off - will look forward to hearing the date.
