Anyone happen to know the length, thread pitch and size of the 16v head manifold studs / nuts please? _________________ x2 33 16v

Hi Al I think it is possible as I am about to find out next week on an 8v head I have.
Years ago on my white 33 I created my own thread in the head of 10mm instead of 8mm and got a stepped stud. it's been there ever since. _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

hey Paul, good to hear from you, it's been a while.
Is there much difference between an 8v / 16v stud and the gap?
Thats good to know, was the stepped stud readily available? I would have thought it's a common thing to go wrong?? _________________ x2 33 16v

I got the stepped stud made up locally for a couple of quid.
Cutting the thread into aluminium was fairly easy.
I would imagine 8v and 16v studs are the same - have got standard ones from a place just off Elm Grove in the past.
What gap? _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Yeah EBC.
Gap between thread and exhaust hole will be different on 16v cars as the exhausts locate diagonally across the exhaust holes instead of laterally on 8v cars.
Have you sheared a stud or making something new?
Mark up using exhaust? _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV

Got heads back with nice new helicoiled thread for stud. (charged an extra £10 on top of the cost for the skimming) _________________ Owner's Club 33 Registrar. Now from P4 & S2 1.7 QV
