Hi Ed Does your mobile number still end 762? If it does i'll give you a ring over Xmas.
BDA was the first cosworth engine for 2l Ford Escorts.
I found it really difficult to get a decent set of used ones. I still have mine if you want to try them to proove a point or an idea
16V and 1.7 gaskets are pretty much the same but I may have an old one / new one about so will have a look. Can also give you compressed thickness, 1.442 mm at 65 lbs ft, 1.48mm uncompressed.

Adie,
….and home is 01275 875536
Yep, that is the correct mobile number, which would be great.
would be quite interested to talk through cam selection etc. It does seem that there are a number of options and views from people, but, with no obvious route. You talk to a few people and there seems to be a lot of opinions and conjecture - but not a great deal of actual knowledge. I accept that there is some 'black art' involved as well as differing performance components to match all together, but I also think there are certain 'performance' options that unless they work in harmony with something else - end up being a waste of time and money. It just takes some time to work through the fog!
Speak soon…..
